That instills a lot of confidence in our gre...Heh. That instills a lot of confidence in our great nation. I certainly am not going to argue with the prevalent apathy amongst voters these days.<BR/><BR/>However, there are a few things the media conveniently forgets to mention when they quote these stats, especially as relates to voting rules and regulations.<BR/><BR/>For example, with American Idol you can vote as many times as you'd like each week. There are no age requirements for voting. You can vote by picking up the phone, or by simply sending a text message on your cell phone. You can even vote for more than one person if you want. (Actually, I hear this may not be a distinguishing characteristic from the political process in some parts of the U.S. :-P ) <BR/><BR/>While I'd love to see more participation from the public in the political process, I'm guessing some of the restrictions in place for Presidential voting may be a Good Thing, even if it comes at the expense of fewer votes.
